Sara IdenforsThis is how you read the ingredient list:
True soap is made from oils and potassiumhydroxide instead of sodiumhydroxide, in which case potassium hydroxide, also known as potash lye, creates soft soap crystals. Consequently, soap has an ingredient list with INCI names beginning with: Potassium. The names indicate that the soap consists of fatty acid salts (soft soap/soap) saponified with potassium hydroxide and the respective oil.
This does not mean that a “foreign chemical” has been added; it is simply the specific name of the particular soap that was formed and the oil/fat from which it was made. In everyday language we say soap; in “chemical terminology,” soap made from rapeseed oil is called: Potassium canolate. And Aqua—that is simply ordinary water.
Our window cleaner contains:
Aqua, Ethanol, 15-30% soap Potassium canolate (saponified rapeseed oil)
