I, Sara, learned early from my great-grandmother Fredrika the value of making the most of what you have. She had a special ability to see potential where others saw something ready to be thrown away. To her, almost anything could be reused and given new life.
Three generations later, her way of thinking lives on. Today, my husband Magnus and I, Sara, run Soapa together—with the same commitment to reuse and careful stewardship of resources.
Something we’re especially proud of
Most produce new – we reuse
In an industry where virgin raw materials are still the standard, we have chosen a different path. Soapa is made from recycled rapeseed oil that would otherwise have become waste. By reusing existing resources, we reduce the need for new production and make the most of what is already available.
In 2025, we prevented over 5 tons of plastic from reaching the oceans.
Much of the plastic that ends up in the oceans lacks proper waste management from the outset. That’s why we use Ocean Prevented Plastic (POP plastic) in our refill packaging—plastic collected before it risks reaching the oceans and waterways. A tangible way to reduce plastic’s impact.
None of our products have any hazard symbols
Clean shouldn’t be toxic. Many cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that are harmful to both people and the environment. Skin contact, inhalation, and residues in wastewater are often overlooked parts of the equation.
Our purpose is simple: cleaning should be effective without exposing people, animals, or nature to unnecessary risks. That’s why we use only the ingredients that serve a real purpose—nothing more.
Local production & transparency
Soapa is made in Vilhelmina, in the heart of inland Sweden. For us, local production is not only about quality and control—it is also about responsibility. Running an industry in northern Sweden creates jobs, strengthens the local community, and helps keep rural areas alive.
By keeping production where the raw materials, people, and expertise are found, rather than moving it to larger cities, we take long-term social responsibility. When manufacturing takes place nearby, we can ensure transparency, good working conditions, and high quality.
