Can you wash decking with soap? Yes, you certainly can! In fact, all wood—and indeed all natural materials—benefit from being cleaned with fatty soap. Soap that is not superfatting can instead dry out the materials and is therefore better suited for cleaning items that do not need to be reconditioned with oils.
