Window cleaning or limescale removal on shower walls? How to choose the right one

Sara Idenfors

We are often asked whether window cleaner is enough to clean shower walls.

The answer is: it depends on how dirty it is and what kind of dirt you want to remove.

For daily cleaning, window cleaner works excellently. It removes fingerprints, skin oils and soap residue, leaving the glass clear, shiny and streak-free.

However, if the shower wall has white or grey deposits that do not disappear with regular cleaning, they are most likely limescale deposits. In that case, you first need to use a limescale remover to dissolve the limescale.

Once the limescale is gone, window cleaner is perfect for giving the glass that final, crystal-clear finish.

A simple rule of thumb

By choosing the right product from the start, cleaning becomes both faster and easier – and the shower wall will stay looking good for longer if you wipe it down regularly.
