In the past, all soap was solid.
Sara Idenfors
In the past, all soap came in solid form.
The liquid version is a modern phenomenon.
Soap used to come in solid form; it was so thick that it was packed and sold in packages, like butter is sold in shops today. Our solid soap is just like that. When buying solid soap, make sure to choose one that is truly solid. If you get a sticky soap with a consistency more like filmjölk, then you are not looking at the old-fashioned version. Solid soap was stored either in its package or in an enamelled “tub.” Nearly every household used to have one.
When and how do you use solid soap?
1 When cleaning vertical surfaces
– Take a dab on an eco-fiber cloth or sponge, moisten lightly, and work up a thick lather. It will stay in place rather than run off like cleaning spray. Leave it to work, then wipe with a damp cloth. You can rinse off shower walls.
2 The oven
– The oven: Rub solid soap into the oven with a little water, and set the oven to low heat for a few minutes. Then scrub it out with a scrubbing brush, sponge, or root vegetable brush. Wipe thoroughly.

3 Tile grout / Bathroom
– Apply a dab of solid soap to the scrubbing brush. Scrub and wipe clean.
Bathroom: Apply a dab of solid soap to a damp sponge if there are, for example, soap and limescale deposits. Work up a lather and leave it for a minute or so. Rinse / wipe clean.
For deep cleaning of tile grout, use a damp root brush and solid soap, leave to work, and rinse / wipe clean.
Toilet: Clean with a damp cloth and a dab of solid soap. In the toilet, use liquid soap, scrub with the toilet brush, and leave to work. Then flush.
4 Stainless steel sink.
– Apply a dab to an eco-fiber cloth or sponge. Moisten, scrub, rinse clean, and wipe dry.

5 Stain removal.
– Apply a dab of solid soap to a moderately firm brush or an ecofiber cloth. The ecofiber cloth works well for coarse clothing such as outerwear and workwear, while a laundry brush is better for other, finer materials. (laundry brushes are available here) Moisten and scrub the stain. Wash as usual in the machine according to the care instructions. Works especially well on greasy stains.

6 Cast iron
– Cast iron should never be degreased. You have probably heard that you must not use dish soap on cast iron. That is true! But a fatty soap is a completely different matter. When you have a burnt cast-iron pot or pan, you can use solid, superfatting soap together with an old-fashioned dish brush made of rice root. It is highly effective and does not damage the cast iron.

7 Scrub carpets
– A dab of soap on the scrubbing brush, and then simply scrub.

9 Mop bucket
No, it is much faster to use liquid soap, which immediately dissolves in the cleaning water.
Of course, you can dissolve the soap and use it in the mop bucket, but then you must be prepared for it to take a couple of minutes for the solid soap to dissolve in hot water.
10 Toilet cleaner
No, it is much faster to use liquid soap, which immediately dissolves in the toilet bowl. Use liquid soap instead of strong toilet cleaners. It works just as well and is gentler both on you and the environment. Use an alkaline, superfatting soap for this. All dirt that comes from plants or animals is most easily removed with an alkaline product. A soap that contains little soap and a lot of water therefore does not work as well here as a concentrated soap.
Of course, there are many, many other tips for using solid soap. These are just a few examples.
Dosage
Dose solid soap as follows: 1-3 tbsp per 10l of warm water. Dissolve the soap in the warm water. The solid soap is highly concentrated. Keep in mind that one jar corresponds to 1.4l of liquid soap, so it takes a while to dissolve such a concentrated product. Use slightly warmer water and work or whisk the soap in the water for a little while so that it dissolves. If you primarily use soap to mop floors, we recommend the liquid version, which dissolves immediately.
You can also put a little soap on one of our scrubbing or dish brushes to clean, for example, the kitchen sink or oven.
The soap is excellent for washing and cleaning vertical surfaces such as tiled walls in kitchens and bathrooms.
Apply the concentrated soap to a sponge with a little lukewarm water, work it in, and preferably leave it on for a few minutes. Then rinse it off.
Using liquid soap!
Dose liquid soap as follows: 3-6 tbsp per 10l of warm water. It dissolves immediately in the water.
Storage
Store at room temperature. If the soap is stored in a cold place or even freezes, it may change color and become lighter. This does not affect its function. Dissolve your soap as usual in warm water.
This is a cleaning product and, of course, should not be ingested!
Like all other cleaning products, it should be stored out of reach of children and separately from food.

Since the product contains no preservatives, it may turn white on the surface, especially if the jar is stored without its lid. This does not affect its function. The product may also vary in consistency, depending on the temperature and the raw material. (Not all vegetable oils are the same.) Sort the packaging as rigid plastic (PET).
