Soft soap is gentle on you, the surface being cleaned, and the environment. Soft soap is readily biodegradable; chemically speaking, soft soap is a compound of fatty acids and is not harmful at all.

Soap is alkaline, a cleaning agent, and just as you should not eat soap, you should not eat soft soap either—it is not a food product, but that does not mean it is dangerous to clean with soft soap; quite the opposite. Soft soaps without additives or fragrances are an especially good environmental choice.

If you choose soap, baking soda, and vinegar for cleaning at home, you have made some really good environmental choices.
